stepping quietly through this land, you remain with me
a kiss amongst the bells of childhood, a recurring dream
we belong to a mysterious art, one heart beating beside one larger heart

i understand you, you understand me; it is something deep and emotional
yet as irrational as pastel drawings disappearing beneath granite sand
where the stillness of a lake captures what i couldn't
in water colours, a picture of you and i

the years bring us nearer to one another
though in the beginning we were one
unified by an act of love: separated by glory and pain

you have been a cloudburst to settled dust
dark soil to a seedling, a reassuring hand to a child
a spoken word to a silence...
